Use Case - Root cause analysis

One of the ways I love to use AI in analysis is when I've got a set of vague thoughts or hypotheses that I wanna turn inside more structured. So let me show you how I can do that. Here, I've got a transactions data model of just ecommerce data, and I'm gonna ask dot ai to do some investigations for me. Hey, Count dot ai. I'm a bit worried about our profitability. I know that sales has gone up a lot over the last few months, but I don't think we've seen any improvements in profitability. In fact, I think it's gone down. Could you help me understand if that's true? And if so, what could be driving that? Is it down to the products we're selling, our product mix? Is it down to we've different customers coming in with different buying habits? Maybe it's the way we're promoting products. I'm not sure. Could you dig in and let me know what you find? So you can see I've given Cannae I a bit of a jumbled set of thoughts here, and it's gonna go away and look at that data model, look at the tables that are available, the columns, the metrics, dimensions, and my question. Try and see how they all fit together. What could be the best structured analysis to help answer that question around profitability? So you can see it's starting to dig into the problem, and it's laying out its thinking here on the right hand side. And in the canvas, it started to lay out different strands of the analysis, looking at overall profitability trends, profitability by product category, and then breaking down product mix shift over time, doing some discount analysis and customer profitability patterns. So you can see it's got a good structure. It's got a set of base tables. Now it's gonna go away and start to dig in and understand which of these four different levers could be could be an issue for profitability. Okay. You can see it's almost finished. It's a whole analysis. It's given us a breakdown of every single one of those different levers and given us an executive summary at the top, which seems to suggest that overall, the margin has hovered around five percent, but now it's dipping near zero in recent months. And it's given us a breakdown of what's really going on here. It's got headlines here and a full analysis of each of these different levers. It's discounting as the strongest driver of why our profitability's been dropping. I've got three choices now. We've got the finished analysis. I could obviously ask the agent more questions, obviously, interrogate what it's done, understand its methodology. I could also share this with my team and bring them into the canvas to discuss the findings and see what actions we wanna take. Or I could just present this as a presentation, export it to PDF, or just walk people through it from the presentation layer of the canvas. So as you can see, the agent's a great way to go from a set of very high level questions to something which is very tangible that you and your team can discuss.
