The 12 best AI tools for marketing in 2026, ranked
AI for your role · Facts checked 22 October 2026
Assume Claude as the assistant. Our winner to put around it is Ahrefs, whose MCP server brings real keyword and backlink data into Claude from the Lite plan. Add HubSpot's connector if it's your CRM, Descript or HeyGen for video, and a brand-voice platform only when dozens of people write for one brand. Count handles the performance numbers.
How we ranked twelve tools, and what we left out
Most "best AI marketing tools" lists rank thirty products, each with a star rating nobody can trace. This one ranks twelve, and every one is here because we opened its official page on 22 October 2026 and read what it says it does and costs.
We assumed one thing: your team already uses Claude. So assistants (Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity) aren't ranked; this is the list of what to put around one. Analytics and attribution tools aren't in it either. Performance numbers are the job Count does, and Count publishes this page, so it sits outside the ranking.
The rules: a price appears only if the vendor's page showed it (some pages served us UK prices, which we haven't converted); no star ratings; and every tool gets a reason not to use it. The order reflects how much of a marketing team's work each tool covers and how many teams it suits. Ahrefs wins because almost every team does search and its data reaches Claude from the Lite plan. Writer comes last because most teams don't need an enterprise rollout, not because it does its job badly.
Left out. Canva's pages refused our fetcher, so we couldn't confirm what its AI features or plans include. ElevenLabs' Claude connector manages voice agents and lists its creative tools as coming soon, and Synthesia's page marks Claude support as coming soon too. OpusClip passed, but lost its place to Descript.
The 12 best AI tools for marketing
Ranked by how much of a marketing team's work each tool covers and how many teams it suits, assuming Claude is already your assistant. The order is our opinion, from each vendor's own pages as of 22 October 2026, not a score.

Best for agents that work on your CRM · CRM and automation
- Why it's here:
- Content, Campaign and Data agents that work on your CRM records, and a free Claude connector with read and write access.
- Watch out:
- Many agents use HubSpot Credits, priced in a separate catalogue, and the connector can write, so decide what it may change. Its performance figures are its own.
- Price:
- Agent Hub included in Starter, Professional and Enterprise
Works with#9 Zapier MCP
- 3Semrush
Best for tracking AI search visibility · SEO and AI search
- Why it's here:

- SEO £113/month (£95.07 billed annually); Starter £161/month, as shown to us
- 4Descript
Best for editing video and podcasts · Video and audio
- Why it's here:
- Video editing that works like editing a doc, and a Claude connector that makes edits from the conversation on desktop, web and Claude Code.
- Watch out:
- Connector edits spend your plan's AI credits, and it can't yet export an MP4.
- Price:
- Hobbyist from $16/person/month; Creator from $24; Business from $50 (lower figures billed annually)
- 5Clay
Best for outbound and account research · GTM and enrichment

- Builds and runs go-to-market plays: enrich accounts, find contacts and run outbound. Clay Functions can be called from Claude over MCP.

- Price:
- Free plan; paid plans metered by credits
Works with#2 HubSpot
- 6Jasper
Best brand-voice tool for content at volume · Content and brand
- Why it's here:
- Content teams producing at volume: Brand Voices, knowledge assets, audiences and marketing agents.
- Watch out:
- Agents run on credits on Business, and its MCP page names Claude only in an FAQ, with no setup steps. It calls its output factually accurate but lists only a plagiarism checker.
- Price:
- Pro $69/seat monthly, $59 billed yearly; Business custom
- 7HeyGen
Best for video without a camera · Video and audio
- Why it's here:
- Creates and localises video with avatars, no camera or crew. Add it to Claude as a connector: "Claude writes the script. HeyGen ships the video."

- Credit-metered, and the page doesn't say how many credits a video costs. Free videos are watermarked and capped at a minute.

- Creator $29/month ($24 billed annually); Pro $49/month; Business $149/month
- 8Surfer

- Why it's here:
- Reaching apps with no MCP server of their own: over 9,000 apps, with actions you choose and a history of every call.

- Each tool call uses two tasks from your quota, and it exists to take actions, so scope it narrowly.
- Price:
- Included in every Zapier plan
Works with#2 HubSpot

- Why it's here:
- Tracks and shapes how your brand appears in AI answers, with a connector in Claude's settings and an MCP endpoint for Claude Code.

- 11Gamma
Best for decks and one-pagers from a brief · Decks and pages
- Why it's here:
- Generates branded presentations, documents, web pages and social posts, and its Claude connector works on every Gamma plan with no API key.

- AI actions use credits, and free accounts get 400 that don't refresh. Its pricing page refused our fetcher, so we can't quote a price.
- 12Writer
Only for large organisations · Content and brand
- Why it's here:
- Large organisations that need departmental voice profiles, style guides and a knowledge graph under admin control. Its MCP server runs published playbooks from Claude.
- Watch out:
- Most teams can skip it: no published prices, Starter is capped at 5 users and 5 playbooks, and a small team gets most of the benefit from a Claude skill.
- Price:
- Not published; Starter has a 14-day trial
Not ranked · We make it
Performance metrics, and a check on every answer
- What it does:
- The numbers none of the tools above report: ROAS, CAC and conversion by channel, computed against your own data with the definition written down, in an analytics workspace connected to Claude. Ask it to audit any answer from Claude and each claim is labelled a citation, an assumption, model knowledge or a hallucination, with the reasoning chain behind it.
- Watch out:
- If your AI use is rewriting copy you supplied, there's little to audit.
Most teams need three layers next to Claude, not twelve tools
Twelve ranked tools is not a shopping list. Next to Claude, most teams need three layers: a source of search data, the CRM, and something that makes the assets Claude can't, such as video. The specialists earn a place only where they hold data or rules the assistant lacks.
Everything here reaches Claude the same way, through an official connector or MCP server, so the data arrives in one conversation instead of being typed in by hand. Ahrefs offers MCP from Lite and Semrush from Starter. HubSpot's connector is free but reads and writes, so decide what it may change. Descript and HeyGen are connectors too: Claude writes the script, and the edit or the video happens where the tool is.
The performance side (ROAS, CAC, conversion by channel) is the one we've left off the list. Those numbers have several valid definitions, as return on ad spend shows, and answering them against your own data with the definition written down is what Count does. The full setup, with step-by-step links, is in AI for marketing teams.
Which tools to run, by team shape
The number on each tool is its rank above. Costs are from the vendors' own pages.
One marketer. You run every channel yourself and make most of the content too.
- Add, in this order: Ahrefs, Descript, Count
- Skip: Jasper, Writer, Profound, Clay
- Cost: Ahrefs Lite £99/month as shown to us; Descript Hobbyist from $16/month
Ahrefs' cheaper Starter plan doesn't include MCP; Lite does.
A team of 5 to 15. Several people write and publish, and HubSpot is your system of record.
- Add, in this order: Ahrefs, HubSpot, Descript, Count
- Skip: Writer, Profound
- Cost: Ahrefs Lite £99/month as shown to us; HubSpot's Claude connector free
Semrush in place of Ahrefs if AI search visibility matters more to you. Give Claude a shared project and a brand-voice skill before buying Jasper.
A large content organisation. Dozens of people write for one brand, and governance matters more than speed.
- Add, in this order: Ahrefs, HubSpot, Jasper, HeyGen, Profound, Count
- Skip: Zapier MCP
- Cost: Jasper Pro $69/seat monthly ($59 billed yearly); HeyGen Business $149/month
Writer instead of Jasper if you need departmental voices and admin control across hundreds of writers; it publishes no prices.
B2B demand generation. Pipeline is the target, and outbound and account-based plays do the work.
- Add, in this order: Clay, HubSpot, Ahrefs, Count
- Skip: HeyGen, Jasper
Clay's credits add up at volume, and its pricing page gives different starting prices for the same plan. Price a month of your plays before committing.
Whichever tool wrote it, see what it rests on
Connect Count to Claude or ChatGPT and audit any marketing answer: every claim is labelled as a citation, an assumption, model knowledge or a hallucination, with the reasoning chain underneath.
What replaces what
The tools overlap more than their pages admit. Here's where one does another's job well enough.
A Claude skill can replace a brand-voice platform, up to a point. Jasper offers Brand Voices (two on Pro, unlimited on Business), knowledge assets and marketing agents; Writer offers personality profiles, style guides, a knowledge graph and playbooks Claude can run over MCP. For a team of five, a written style guide in a Claude skill does most of the same work at no extra cost. The platforms win when governance matters: departmental voices, approvals and admin controls across hundreds of writers. Neither page lists a fact-checking feature. Jasper says its output is "factually accurate" but the only verification add-on it lists is a Copyscape plagiarism check, which tests originality, not truth.
Descript, or HeyGen. Descript edits footage you've recorded, like editing a doc. HeyGen makes video with no camera or crew. Teams that record webinars and customer stories want Descript; teams producing explainers in several languages want HeyGen. Both run on credits.
Semrush, Surfer or Profound for AI search. All three track how you show up in AI answers. Semrush tracks 50 prompts a day on Starter and 100 on Pro+, Surfer's MCP starts on its AI Search Analytics plan, and Profound publishes no prices. If you already pay for Semrush or Ahrefs (whose Brand Radar add-on starts at £159 a month), start there.
HubSpot's agents and its Claude connector do different jobs. HubSpot's Content Agent drafts in your brand voice inside HubSpot. The connector puts CRM data into Claude next to everything else. Many agents run on HubSpot Credits, so price both.
Zapier MCP fills the gaps, at a cost. It reaches over 9,000 apps and can take actions in them, using two tasks from your Zapier quota per tool call. Useful for a tool with no MCP server of its own; dangerous as a way to give an assistant write access to everything at once.
What most teams can skip
Every category below has a team that should skip it.
- Skip the brand-voice platform if you don't yet have a written style guide. A voice tool with nothing to enforce produces confident, average copy.
- Skip AI visibility tracking unless someone will act on it. Useful data, but only if it changes what you publish.
- Skip Clay unless outbound is a channel you run every week. It's metered in actions and data credits, and priced for volume.
- Skip Zapier MCP until a job needs an app with no official server. Start read-only and narrow.
- Skip HubSpot's agents if HubSpot isn't your system of record. The value is that they work on CRM data where it lives.
And skip any tool whose output you can't check. That's the test the next section is about.
No tool here checks its own claims, so test them
None of the tools on this page, by its own description, tells you which of its claims are wrong. The independent evidence says someone has to. When Columbia's Tow Center tested eight AI search tools on identifying the source of news excerpts, ChatGPT Search got 134 of 200 wrong (Tow Center, March 2025). An audit of deep-research systems found citation accuracy between 40% and 80% (DeepTRACE, September 2025). In marketing the risk is doubled, because the numbers have several valid definitions: Google Ads defaults to a 30-day conversion window for Search and Display, GA4 to a 90-day lookback for most key events (Google help pages), and an assistant will pick one without mentioning it.
A two-minute test for any AI marketing tool
- Give it something you know. Last month's report, or a post you've already fact-checked.
- Trace three claims in its output to a file, query or page you can open.
- Ask what it assumed: "Which parts of this are assumptions rather than things in my data or your sources?"
- Recompute one figure from totals, and ask which attribution window it used.
- Check what it can write to. If it's connected to HubSpot, your CMS or Zapier, know which actions it can take without asking.
Step three is the one Count does for you. Connect it to Claude through its MCP server and ask it to audit an answer; it replies with a canvas where each claim is labelled a citation, an assumption, model knowledge or a hallucination, with the reasoning chain behind it. If your AI use is mostly rewriting copy you supplied, there's little to audit, and you can skip it too.
Questions people ask
What is the best AI tool for marketing?
Next to the assistant you already use, Ahrefs: its MCP server brings keyword and backlink data into Claude from the Lite plan. After that it depends on the team. HubSpot's connector for CRM data, Descript or HeyGen for video, Clay for outbound.
Are AI marketing tools accurate?
Not reliably on facts. Independent audits put citation accuracy for AI research tools between 40% and 80%, and no tool on this page claims to fact-check its own output. Treat every statistic and competitor claim as unverified until someone opens the source.
Do I need a separate AI tool for brand voice?
Only at scale. Jasper and Writer manage voices and style guides across large teams. A small team can write its guide into a Claude skill and get most of the benefit; see Claude skills for marketing.
Which AI tools make marketing video?
Descript edits video you've recorded, like editing a document, and its Claude connector works from the conversation. HeyGen makes avatar video with no camera or crew. Both run on credits, and HeyGen's page doesn't say how many a video costs.
